HOTBIN Mega Composter

Available in various sizes, the HOTBIN Mega is an insulated compost bin designed specifically for larger spaces or places with higher volumes of waste such as allotments, cafes, community projects or estates. They can reach temperatures of 40–60°C, making it possible to produce compost more quickly than traditional compost bins. You can keep track of the temperature with the handy thermometer enclosed in the lid

The enclosed design with built-in filter helps to manage odours, while insulating the contents making it easier to achieve higher temperatures.  As well as garden waste (leaves, hedge and grass cuttings), you can add food waste including leftover cooked food, vegetable peelings, eggshells, stale bread, fish, meat and small bones.

Pet bedding and manures, plus dog waste and some cat litters can also be processed when the bin runs hot over 40°C. At hot composting temperatures you'll see mulching-grade compost in around 30 days and rich, general-purpose, ready-to-use compost in 3 months. What can take 12–24 months in a cold heap takes just 13 weeks in a HOTBIN. There's no turning or tumbling, just feed little and often.

Made from expanded polypropylene to lock in the heat, the HOTBIN keeps composting even  through the colder months.
